Graphic Novels
Creative careers often take unexpected turns and Mr.
Wagner’s is no exception. In the summer of 2007 he signed
his first contract to script Graphic Novels for Elfin Kids –
something he never could have foreseen himself doing.
As one of only 30 writers selected from over 600
considered, Lloyd has begun scripting to the Graphic Novel
format, adapting classic works of literature – such as Mary
Shelly’s Frankenstein or Don Quixote – to this dynamic,
and increasingly popular, medium.
“In many ways this is ideal
work for me,” says Wagner, who
has always been an avid reader.
“I get to re-read some of my
favorite books, and then bring
them to life, re-telling them to a
new audience.”
Thus far, Mr. Wagner has completed adaptations of The Prisoner of Zenda, Don
Quixote (2 volumes) and Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein and is waiting as they are brought
to life, in full color, by Elfin’s artists. In addition, he has begun work on an adaptation of
Jack London’s Call of the Wild.
Lloyd has also begun scripting Hillary and Tenzing, the Conquest of Everest, his
first original title for Elfin Kids. This book will tell the stories of Sir Edmund Hillary,
Tenzing Norgay and the first successful ascent of Mount Everest.
Elfin Kids/Elfin Comics is an international publisher
