Screenwriting
Promotional poster for Twilight
Entertainment's "A Blind Eye,"
Lloyd Wagner's second
collaboration with filmmaker
Bradford R Youngs.
Lloyd Wagner’s first foray into film
began on a dare. Challenged by a
friend he wrote a screen adaptation
of Joseph Conrad’s “A Secret
Agent.”

Entitled,
32 Brett Street, the
screenplay was far from perfect, but
it did serve to introduce him to what
would quickly become his favorite
format and genre.
Several years, and several children, later, Lloyd had the
opportunity and privilege to study screenwriting with Ken Vose
(
Greased Lightning). This led to When Pigs Fly - an ensemble
comedy, with pigs. (For more on this and other screenplays, see
below.) Mr. Wagner’s next screenplay was
El Chupacabras,
Trail of the Goatsucker
, an adventure mystery for young
audiences inspired by his sons, Ian and Lloyd Jr. This story was to
be adapted into a book and became the first in the successful
Oliver Family Adventure Series.
Continuing his studies with such recognized talents as Mark Rosenthal (Mona Lisa
Smile, Mercury Rising, Desperate Hours, Jewel of the Nile, The Legend of Billie
Jean
) and the late Jay Hammerand, Lloyd continued writing screenplays. His next
script was the urban drama,
Hatin’ (also known as The Prince), followed by the teen
horror/psychological thriller hybrid,
Forbidden Hallways. While none of these
features have been produced, they have led to other successes.
In 2007 Mr. Wagner was contacted by producer/director
Bradford R. Youngs of Twilight Entertainment. Based on
what he had read, Youngs invited Lloyd to work on an
idea he was developing. Accepting the challenge of his
first collaboration, Mr. Wagner, along with Mr. Youngs,
created
Rotavele, a stylish thriller that combines
Hitchcock suspense with Tarantino style. Currently in
development, Rotavele is slated to be directed by Mr.
Youngs.
Building on the rapport established while writing
Rotavele, Youngs and Wagner next collaborated on
A
Blind Eye
, a psychological thriller inspired by the black
and white classic,
Wait Until Dark. A Blind Eye  is also
currently in development with actor C. Thomas Howell
attached. It is tentatively slated to go into production in
January of 2009.
Filmmaker Bradford R. Youngs
of Twilight Entertainment.
Mr. Wagner is currently working on a solo effort
entitled
Nice Guys Finish Second based on a series of
web episodes written for producer/director Justin
Lutsky.
    Producer/Director Justin Lutsky, one of
several filmakers Lloyd Wagner has been
working with over the past year.

The Prince

A modern Machiavelli tale.

Two black friends must face their past and choose their future when an aging goodfellow, desperate to get back in the game,
plays them against one another. A tense, character-driven urban drama.

A rare opportunity to cast two African-American leads on equal footing with an established Caucasian actor.
(formerly titled Hatin'. Rewritten 7/06)

Forbidden Hallways

Every school has them. Few explore them.

Teen horror turns psychological thriller as six students investigate a high school legend.
Blair Witch meets The Sixth Sense.

An ideal “starter” project - 1 primary location, young cast, low budget.

When Pigs Fly

Ambition. Arrogance. Swine.

When Pigs Fly – an ensemble comedy, with pigs.

In the spirit of A Fish Called Wanda, it’s Fawlty Towers meets Planes, Trains and Automobiles when Cadbury Pryce, the man
behind Pryce Right Groceries, travels to bring his version of the modern market to Moscow. The ensuing clash of cultures in the
Russian winter leads to dire circumstances and strange alliances.

El Chupacabras, Trail of the Goatsucker

and friends Natalie and Peto pursue the legendary chupacabras while vacationing in Belize.

Conceived as first in series of mystery movies for children and "'tweens." Based on book. (ISBN 0-595-33315-X) Second book,

Nice Guys Finish Second - Work in progress.

In the wee-hours world on independent tow truck operators finishing second means losing but when Jackson Pollard, a young
tow truck operator on the brink of financial failure, finds the girl that's supposed to be dead, all bets are off and a new, and
ruthless, set of rules apply. Helping him to sort it all out is Paula, an insomniac, artist waitress.

Based on a series of web-episodes created for Justin Lutsky and Epic Image Entertainment.

Mentor - Work in progress.

What does it mean when your mentor is a sociopath?

A young woman is put in peril when it is discovered her mentor is not who he seems to be , but is instead a lying and
manipulative sociopath.  But who set the wheels is motion, and what has she learned from her mentor?

This psychological thriller with a twist is an ideal vehicle for younger actress building on fresh name recognition and an
opportunity to pair such an  actress with both an established leading man and an older actor.
